François Quittard-Pinon is a professor of finance at the University of Lyon 1, ISFA Graduate School of Actuarial Sciences.

He also teaches graduate courses at the University of Paris IX Dauphine. He graduated from the University of Paris VI, Pierre et Marie Curie, where he obtained a Masters degree in applied probability and a Ph.D. in statistics. He holds a Doctorat d’Etat from the University of Lyon 1. Before joining the ISFA he was professor at Ecole Normale Supérieure de Cachan.

His research focuses on portfolio choices, option theory, derivatives pricing, term structure of interest rates, and application of financial quantitative methods in life-insurance. He has published several articles in academic journals and books, including “Marchés des capitaux et théorie financière”, Economica. He is a member of the board of several journals, and a regularly consulted referee in the fields of finance and insurance.
